Since we know all the challenges that high school students face, we decided that we should help them in the best possible way, which is a direct informational and educational meeting with them. Precisely for this purpose, our team, in cooperation with the Union of High School Students of Republic of Macedonia, organized a High School Career Development Summit
We organized the summit in order to show high school students all the benefits and huge opportunities offered by informal education, to get to know this way of education, so that they can make the right decision more easily.
This event took place on April 22, made possible by Growth Labs Academy and the Union of High School Students. The summit took place through several stages, through informative and educational speeches by real professionals. Frosina Zafirovska – Human Resources Manager and Business Director of Growth Labs Academy, Berin Muhammed – President of the Union of High School Students, gave their presentation at the opening. The first speaker was Dr. Sofia Georgievska – Professor of the Faculty of Philosophy, who, with her speech, opened up new outlooks on non-formal education to those present, started the discussion and posted the question: – „Is non-formal education the secret ingredient for success?“. Katerina Zlatanovska Popova, Certified Career Counselor was the next speaker and her topic was: – „How to choose my future career path“.
In order for high school students to understand the importance of personal branding, the power of networking, social media and achieving results with consistency and hard work, the topic „Creating your personal brand identity at the beginning of your career“ was also prepared by Elena Kostoska, LinkedIn Branding Consultant.
The event ended with a panel discussion on the topic: – „Expanding career opportunities through non-formal education“ – the moderator was Frosina Zafirovska, and the panelists were Blagojce Gjorchevski – President of MASSUM, Aleksandar Nikolovski – President of the University Student Assembly at UKIM, Mitko Pishtolov – Skills Development Manager – USAID activity for young people who actively create opportunities and Ana Pop Rizova – Psychologist.
During the entire event, high school students had an excellent opportunity to ask questions and receive meaningful answers, which will surely guide them in making their decision. That is why numerous discussions developed between the audience and the speakers, which is a huge indicator of the success of the event.
The High School Career Development Summit, apart from helping the students to make a decision, has more value because, as an academy, we have decided that one of them should receive an exclusive opportunity to study at Growth Labs Academy. So immediately after the successful panel discussion, we tested the students knowledge on AI with a short quiz, and the 5 brightest and quickest participants received a scholarship to study at Growth Labs Academy.
Through this High School Career Development Summit, we wanted to show that we care about our students, as an academy that always offers the best for its future students.
